Tulips storing

1. Received tulip bulbs at home? First, check your bulbs for dehydration, rot, or possible diseases

When it comes to preserving tulip bulbs, remember: flower bulbs are alive! Check your flower bulbs upon receipt for rot, dehydration, or possible diseases. Do this as much as you can with the naked eye. If you notice any issues with your tulip flower bulbs or if you're unsure, let us know immediately. We'll advise you and provide new flower bulbs if needed. Here you can find our return policy. If you purchased flower bulbs from another retailer or grower, we recommend the same.

2. Preserve tulip bulbs in a breathable packaging

If you've placed an order with The Bulb Farmers, you can preserve your tulip bulbs in the bag they were delivered in. The bag has air holes, allowing them to breathe!

Preserving tulip bulbs in newspaper
If you've accidentally opened the bag already or if you've purchased bulbs elsewhere without a ventilated bag, don't worry. You can also preserve tulip bulbs in newspaper or in an egg carton/cardboard box. Other materials are fine too, as long as they keep the tulip flower bulbs dry and allow air to pass through. Remember, tulips are living beings. So, be a little gentle with them... If you can't find anything suitable, you can preserve your tulip bulbs in a netlon bag (an old mandarin bag).

Therefore, look for a place that meets these criteria, and you can be sure that your bulbs will do very well:

  •  Dry

  •  A constant cool temperature (+/- 15°C)
  •  Your flower bulbs appreciate fresh air in the space
