The Grand Maitre is a low-growing crocus with a deep, intensely violet colour. This flower also blooms in places with little sunlight and is therefore ideal for filling unplanted shady spots in the garden. This crocus variety also has the advantage of attracting bees. In early spring, when there is not yet much food available for bees, the flowers are an important nectar source.
