The Nigrum is also known as the black ornamental onion. Despite its name, this allium has bright white flowers. It attracts bees and butterflies and also has the ability to naturalize, producing many young bulbs annually. Some of these bulbs will eventually mature and produce beautiful flowers. Cut the flowers when they are still half open to ensure they stay well in a vase.
